Any Nigerian student in an accredited tertiary institution in Nigeria, including Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechniques, Colleges of Education, Colleges of Health and their likes.

Applicants must be between ages 16 and 27 years.

Yes, registration can be Optional of Individual or Team. However if you register as an Individual you will be paired to form a Team in the Grand Finale

  • Fill out and submit the EXD Application form via the website
  •  Free Registration ( Application is Absolutely free).
  • Submit a 3-5 minutes video via YouTube, paste the link in space provided on the application form. Submit all other required supplemental materials such as copy of School Identity Card etc

Hybrid debate teams are allowed. Such teams must not be more than two persons and there must be proof that both members of the team are current students in a tertiary institution in Nigeria. Participants must be available to partake of the regional and finals if selected.

From the pool of applications received, a panel of 5 evaluators shall review all the video entries and application and rank them based on the same criteria.

Selection shall ensure that teams from all the 6 geopolitical zones are included to ensure national spread and balance.

About 64 teams shall be selected and announced in October 2017.

Regional Auditions shall hold in Lagos State and Abuja in November 2017, where the 32 finalist teams shall emerge.

Participants and teams shall be fully responsible for their transportation, to and from the location of the audition, as well as be responsible for their accommodation and incidentals.

32 teams from different tertiary institutions shall qualify from the 2 regional auditions for the grand finale.

The grand finale shall hold in Abuja Nigeria between 6th and 9th December to commemorate the International Anti-Corruption Day 2017.

Road transportation, accommodation and meals shall be provided for ONLY members of the 32 teams for the grand finale in Abuja. Please note that accommodation shall be based on room share by 2  persons of the same sex.

A formal complaint should be communicated to the organizers through its official communication channels for review.

Every case shall be treated based on merit by a Complaint Unit. However, the organizers are not obligated to cancel any judge’s score or suspend the debating process in order to address any grievances arising.

  • 1ST Prize – N500,000
  • 2nd Prize – N300,000
  • 3rd Prize – N200,000

It is a team win, that means, each winning team will share the money between both members of the team equally.

It is an activity the winners are required to implement as champions of the debate after the debate challenge to promote anticorruption in Nigeria.

It is expected to start immediately the winners emerge and to last officially for up to one year.  But you are at liberty to sustain it for as long as you wish?

All winners are responsible for creating and implementing their pet projects. However, Youngstars Foundation, the organizers shall offer guidance, mentoring and linkages to other support they become aware in the course of time.

All such cases shall be handed over to the law enforcement agencies for investigation and prosecution if found guilty. If such was a winner, the organisers shall strip such a person of the title and make public announcement to the effect.
