Congress for Democracy
Public Group active 2 weeks, 5 days agoThis Congress is the “heart and soul of our democracy”; it will reflect us in all our strengths and all our weaknesses. It will reflect our regional idiosyncrasies, our ethnic, religious, and racial diversity, our multitude of professions, and our shadings of opinion on everything from the value of war to the war over values. It is essentially charged with reconciling our many points of view on the great public policy issues of the day. Think of this Congress as an automobile. While drivers of various skills can take the automobile in different directions on various types of roads, the internal machinery of the vehicle plays a crucial role in determining how smooth the drive will be, as well as how far and fast the driver can go.
We come together at a defining moment in the history of our nation. We Democrats have a special commitment to this promise of Nigeria. We believe that every Nigeria, whatever their background or station in life, should have the chance to get a good education, to work at a good job with good wages, to raise and provide for a family, to live in safe surroundings, and to retire with dignity and security. We believe that quality and affordable health care is a basic right. We believe that each succeeding generation should have the opportunity, through hard work, service and sacrifice, to enjoy a brighter future than the last.
A land of historic resourcefulness has lost its patience with elected officials who have failed to lead. It is time for a change.
We can do better.
Our Mission: To maintain freedom

JUST THINKING ALOUD
Nigeria is in a situation where without regular and stable jobs, more Nigerians, especially the younger generation, could be tempted by easy money associated with illegal economic activities or potentially by those wanting to recruit for subversive activities once again.

Towards a better society, we need to recognize how to work together to establish mutual accountability, share responsibility, and mutually agreed-upon results.
Sometimes instead of partnering the “Old-Boy Network” shows up and we get into blaming behaviours.
The reality is that there is no substitute for mutual…[Read more]

I’ve come to realize that poor countries are poor because they supply too many things for which there is relatively little demands while rich countries are rich because they supply things that are scarce but in high demand. The reason for careless living is lack of vision. No wonder people/nations perish cuz they lack this fundamental tool of…[Read more]
