Youngstars Ghana Program 2010

1. DESPLAY Pro 2010

This is a new version of DESPLAY designed to identify and support youth candidates interested in grasroot politics and democratisation during Ghana’s District Election in 2010

Activities shall include conferences with young candidates, training on politics and contemporary campaign tools, presentation of manifesto to community, election monitoring and sportsmanship cutlure. More details would be up soon.

2. Youth Works Exhibition and Top 12 Awards 2010

This is designed to become an annual event that showcases young and emerging Ghanaian change makers impacting their space in different areas of development work and are not being easily recognised. It would be a One day Exhibition during which about 60 youth development activist would showcase their 2010 impact projects to a crowd of corporate leaders, top government functionaries, donor agencies, religious leaders, fellow youths and the society at large.  To qualify, youths shall under go a capacity building process, register their projects for screening by an independent international jury prior the exhibition and awards day. Project commencement to be announced soon.

Funding and partnership is fully welcome.

3. Ghana Youth Online Forum on President Miller’s 1 year in Office

Youngstars Ghana has conducted a 3 weeks Youth Online forum on the performance of President Mills administration during his first year in office. Prior to the online forum, 6 key areas were identified. Each week, 2 areas were loaded on the Youngstars website for youths to begin to comment on. Primarily, the online forum raises concerns and also suggestions / recommendations from youth on areas the government needs to do more in 2010 and subsequently.

It was projected that a One Day interactive Forum between government and young people would climax the forum to interface on the key points raised on the forum.
