We have lots of young people being engaged into companies, organizations and agencies…. anti-corruption inclusive, who got in through forging of documents, especially thier age. These same people grow through the ranks to be CEO’s… and you expect them to have the integrity and moral to champion anti corruption fight… Very difficult i must say.
Thats one area goverment need to look into, youth unemployment… NAPEP can do better, in reaching out to others through their skill aquisition program, so as to have more youg people self employed and not always wait for government.

The practical way our young people can fight corruption is to denounce the monster. If we are serious about it, each and everyone of us, who sees himself as a change agent, should start to live the change he wishes to see in the society. It starts with the most minute things. Ensure that you don’t take undue advantage of people’s difficulties, and render services within your official capacity without asking for gratifications. If you happen to be in a high position, your conduct may inspire your subordinates to follow suit. On the other hand, if you find yourself in the lower rungs of the ladder, your conduct can form a flight of steps for you to get to the top. Once again, my advice is for all anti-corruption advocates amongst young people to live as examples for others.

Anti-corruption education impacts at two levels:
First:
it aims at strengthening individuals in their ethical decision-making. Value conflicts and ethical dilemmas frequently arise in the daily lives of people, for example when family values, such as loyalty, clash with work ethics, such as impartiality. Ethics education should provide the skill to identify such conflicts, and instill the motivation for solving them in the best interest.
Second:
it aims at building a culture of zero-tolerance for corruption, through strengthening public awareness and participation in political life, and through mobilizing the public to stand up against corruption.
Citizenship and democracy education aims at strengthening democratic processes and participation in politics, and promotes values such as representation, solidarity, participation, responsibility and pluralism. Human rights education promotes inherent human dignity, enshrined in the equal and inalienable rights to for example take part in government, fair employment, adequate standard of living and many others, as stated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948). Voter education, in that it builds citizens’ awareness of electoral processes, should also be considered anti-corruption education. Finally:
Public and private sector ethics and organizational ethics do have strong anti-corruption components, as they build on values such as accountability, fairness, impartiality and lawfulness.”

As a young Nigerian I have this solemn Role to play in the fight against Corruption which I am soliciting a massive support and action from Fellow young Nigerians to quickly joint; Our Role in Fighting Corruption:
Here are some suggestions of what we can do to fight corruption:
Refuse to pay bribes and/or report requests for bribes from public officials;
Send articles on corruption to the media or start a newsletter by youth;
Form anti-corruption clubs in schools/colleges that organize social events, stimulate group discussions, request that courses on anti-corruption, good governance and ethics be included in the school curriculum, publicly declare schools a “corruption-free zone,” and monitor and report any violations.
Research and disseminate information on government procedures and entitlements to the citizenry.
Etc.

Practical ways young people in Nigeria can Combat corruption is to first learn to participate and become a part of the process and no longer as on looker. Then the ability of Young Nigerians to imbibe the habit of saying NO TO CORRUPTION when they see one and never keep mum.
In as little ways as possible, young Nigerians should advocate against corruption and corrupt practices.
Report cases of corruption to the appropriate authorities. This could be done via anonymous letters/emails for safety where necessary.
FIGHTING CORRUPTION BEGINS WITH YOU AND I, LETS PLAY OUR PART!!!

the fight against corruption is the duties of everyone both young and old.The best method to adopt is the sensitization and awareness programme on the menace of corruption at the secondary and tertiary institution and strict monitoring of future leaders within the auspices of the tertiary institution. Experience at the tertiary institution shows that there is a lot of corrupt practises going on in students associations ,state association, departmental/faculty, student unions etc. Despite the poor financial accountability of the future leaders, the university management and the relevant agencies are watching the scenario….Virtually in all areas of life, the acts is still not cautioned by relevant agencies.
the best way to curb and fight against corrupt practises is through the following
1.Proper accountability, transperency and equity among students leaders and followers.
2. Strict monitoring by relavant agencies.
3 Creation of anti corruption campaign club.
4 Inclusive of value and civic responsibilty in the school curiculum.
5 Trials for students leaders caught in the act of mismanagement amd embezzlement of students funds, examination malpractises.
6 Seminars, lectures and symposium on quaterly basis for students.
The above mentioned points are practical ways…e.g Once upon a time in the institution i had finished from, there were student leaders that were caught in the act of embezzlement and mismanagement fo student funds, some escape while others were given given punishment. subsequent leaders were forced by fellow student to be accountable as such punishment for their predecesssors will be mete out for them, also students that were caught in the act o exam malpractices were disciplined , at least to the bearest minimun, corrupt practices has reduced

The corruption lingering among the young in Nigeria are inclined against 2 dimensional negative thirsts. These include, 1. The need to survive. 2. Cultural attitude towards the so called ‘successful’ or ‘those who have made it’.
Looking at the question on ground, I see it lighter to see solution to this menace having known the life-wire behind the whole mishap.
The need to survive: Many or precisely, all corrupt Nigerian youths do what they do not basically because they just want to do it but they see fortune in where there is no fortune in sincerity. Instead, what they see is shadows though a shadow that can be touched, felt, handled and this makes it all illusions. What an illusion? Though the insistent cry to the government for the renewal of stances on unemployment, many youths have run after shortcuts to success. Many while in colleges and universities indulge in one form of corrupt practices or the other. A very popular and wide-ranging corrupt act amongst Nigerian youths that is reckoned worldwide the cyber crime. But is corruption and evil practices the key to open unto us the survival we ought?
Then again, many Nigerians have found themselves in acts which though really would not have been p[art of their lives but because of our cultural disposition to corruption, the end up doing what they see others do. Just because people do not really see it bad. Imagine if Yusuf your best friend has been fraudulently getting little money piece by piece from his fraud scopes. Just last month, he claimed "mugu don pay" and two weeks later, he has got two new cars; one for himself and the other for his parents. His parents are so delighted and neighbors are propagating it as if it were the something else. Just imagine someone asking you out of fascination, "are you the only person in the neighbourhood not yet aware that Yusuf is now a big boy?" That is the culture of corruption and it is being patronized in our society a lot. Are you imagining the fact or fiction in this assertion? It is simple because there are a lot of instances. Do you still remember Olu Maintain's "Yahoozee", Kelly Hansome's "Maga don pay, shout alleluia" Nkem Owoh's "The Master"? and lot more. Apart from these or similar ones, there are some very variant ones that are nice touching too. When people leave for politics, for example, a school teacher, there is a wide gap when he happens to be in the political office than he were. In situations like this, one ought to expect difference but the differences have become so myriad the nowadays, many see politics as the MOST lucrative business one can invest in. Whether you are there as a godfather or as an aspirants, it is now believed that whatever you spend for sure will multiply. What an oriented? What an inclination?
Look out there and see the people with honour in the society, they are necessarily people who cannot account for what they've got. How did they get what they cannot explain how they got? There is a bait herein that many have loosed the vision of human existence as to pursue illusions.
Forth and [further or backward] or around, we look up to see youths and elders alike dancing to the tune of change. But there are three basic things that I must not fail to leave behind;
1. Fear of God: The fear of God Proverb says is the beginning of wisdom. It is indelible for all to have this fear. This could be best propagated not by humanitarian groups alone but by all. To a higher magnitude, parents, teachers, preachers and other religious servicemen should endeavour to preach the good news of change of heart and attitude. To you youth, fear God, pray to Him and work towards something and something good will come out of it.
2. Hardworking habit: Habit is what is mastered from the occasional and repeated acts of man. It is a recurrent, often unconscious pattern of behavior that is acquired through frequent repetition of a particular activity. If we the youths could be habitual hard workers, we can be sure that the fast track taken by many will no longer be sweet. It is sweet because almost every body wants to follow it. If 8/10 youths see hard work as the key to success, then the majority have the higher potential to effect the supposed attitude.
3. Self-reliance: One of the problems faced in Nigerian unemployment claim is the rate of people who see been government reliant as the key to job engagement. You could be an EMPLOYER and not even an employee if you can sketch out for yourself a business, its strategies and then if you’re able to exercise patience. Patience is very important and it is good investors know it before investing. A farmer forever will need a year length patience if he should go into annual crops cultivation, and more for bi-annual and perennial crops. Same is required for whatever business you want to go into. It is not always rosy at the beginning but the storms will pass if you are patient enough to see it go by. If not, you will even see it that you’re not naturally successful. It is not true you not successful. Peak Milk says “Its in You”.
I wish I had all day to continue…
