Again on a day school children and the bridge to our future where visiting the Federal House of Reps, a massive show of irresponsibleness, mocking the esteemed title Hon Members displayed itself  in the chambers of the house. As i watched the entire process, i was both stunned and sorry for our national image, to the extent that even a woman was rough handled under the watching eyes of the House Leadership.

What was the cause for this? Demand for Accountability.  The exact things we accused the military of we now work to exceed. The kind of amount being named here beats my reasoning, since the inception of this administration, it has been one scandal after the order, from car scandal to the 5.2b elumelu scandal and now this and all these men and women walk free on our streets and without shame suggest that they are honourable enough to articulate laws for our land? Someone recently told me that the office of a senator or house member is worth between 400-600 million within the 4 years tenure in salaries, allowances and constituency bonanza! It is no longer viewed in term of impact, but in terms of monetary terms?

As the next elections draw near, i believe that young people and the populace in general shall rise to the occassion to elect truly honourable and credible people to represent us. In more civilised and democracies, people resign at the mere mention of corruption against their names, here, instead people secure new titles and chieftencies and have rallies organised for them. Thievery and Falacy now reign as kings on our shore, but not for too long, eh not for too long. Where EFCC, ICPC, The presidency etc fail, our vote come the next election shall not fail, atleast my vote and those of emerging leaders we are breeding through DESPLAY Africa
